Dr. Jean-Michel Laffargue

Jean-Michel has practised in the intellectual property profession in Munich since 2004, following several years in R&D as a research scientist at Schneider Electric/Merlin Gérin, Grenoble; a researcher at LGET-CNRS in collaboration with SEDIVER, Toulouse; in manufacturing (process quality engineer at Matra Automobile, Romorantin-Lanthenay); and in design (quality manager at Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector, Munich).

 

He covers the following technical areas:

• dielectric materials
• electric motors and controls
• electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering, with particular expertise in telecommunications
• electro-mechanical
• electronic devices and circuitry
• high voltage and EMI protection (zinc oxide surge arresters, electromagnetic shielding)
• medical devices.
• mobile communications
• semiconductor devices (physics and technology)

 

His professional experience covers drafting and prosecution of European and international patent applications to grant, as well as opinion work on freedom-to-operate.

 

Jean-Michel is a native French speaker, fluent in English and proficient in German with also a good knowledge of Dutch.
