Peter Jenkins

Peter has been in the patent profession for over 35 years. He specialises in advice relating to patents in a wide range of technical areas, including electromechanical, mechanical and chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, electronics and he also has significant experience of registered design rights.

 

Peter works with individual inventors and companies of all sizes to formulate IP and patent policies and strategy, focussing on commercial objectives. This includes making regular site visits to meet with both management and R&D teams to discuss IP strategy, to keep abreast of commercial objectives, to advise on contentious IP issues and licensing, and to assess technology for patentable inventions.

 

Peter has extensive experience of drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications, including representing applicants before the UK Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office and co-ordinating worldwide prosecution of patent families. He has extensive experience of representing applicants, patentees and opponents at proceedings before the examining or opposition divisions and the boards of appeal at the European Patent Office.

 

Peter has also assisted with patent litigation in various jurisdictions, including UK, USA, France, Germany, Austria and Italy.
