Introduction of the Unified Patent Court in Europe

A video explaining the upcoming changes to the patent system in Europe and the introduction of the United Patent Court (UPC) and Unitary Patent (UP) has been released by The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.

The UPC and UP should be at the top of the IP agenda for any patent owners in 2023. Click here to read our 4 key steps to prepare for the arrival of the UPC and UP on 1 June 2023.

How our patent attorneys can help

Both our UK and Munich based European Patent Attorneys will be able to obtain unitary patents at the European Patent Office, exactly as we do for European patents. We will also be able to prepare and file opt out requests.

We offer a free initial consultation to discuss your objectives and the approach that we would take to protecting the intellectual property in Europe. Or contact Kelda Style on 020 7831 7929 or email kelda.style@pagewhite.com.

This briefing is for general information purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for legal advice relating to your particular circumstances. We can discuss specific issues and facts on an individual basis. Please note that the law may have changed since the day this was first published in January 2023.
